Nominal Data

Nominal data are categorical data that cannot be ranked. That is, we cannot use words like better, worse, higher or smaller for data measured on a nominal scale.

Example 1

Many social demographics are measured on a nominal scale. For instance, race, occupation, favorite color and martial status. All of them do not enable ranking of individuals.
