A project examined the accuracy of medication administration by nurses at a 550-bed tertiary care hospital in western New York. Thirty nurses from three hospital units agreed to be observed as they administered medications. Results are summarized in the following table.
Questions:
Q1. Provide a 95% confidence interval for the overall error percentage (i.e. 4.9%).
Q2. What is the error incurred in using 4.9% for estimating the overall error percentage?
Q3. Suppose you were asked to examine if there was a difference of the percentage of medication errors across the three units. Perform an appropriate analysis.
Q4. Give one limitation of this study.
